Could I please register my concern as to the blatant slanderous lies put forward by Joan Macpherson, who somewhat ironically is THE sole reason that the film has not been able to be taken any further.

I do not wish to get involved with this matter as it is between Ms Macpherson and the director however I know, for certain fact, that these are merely slanderous lies from a desperate and jealous woman.

I can only apologise to people such as yourself who took an interest in the film, from all others involved in the production of ‘Kirk’ for this unfortunate outcome.

The film could, in my professional opinion, have gone very far, having won ‘Best Director’ at the BAFTA Scotland Awards as well as ‘Best Independent Feature’ at the International Festival of Fantastic Films in Manchester.

I only respond as I do not wish for these jealous lies to be given any credence.

Wow! I’m sorry to hear that. It looked like a very interesting project and lots of people would have loved to have seen it. Who knows what all goes on behind the scenes.

Michael Ferns will not give the producer a copy of the film for the film society. EVEN THOUGH HE HAD AGREED TO MAKE IT FOR THEM FOR NO MORE THAN A COPY OF THE DVD. He has used it for his own end by entering it into a BAFTA Award faulsly giving credit to RSAMD as the production company, neglecting to put the producers name on the application and wrongly saying he has all the visual and audio rights. In this interview (above)he claims to have had grants to make this film. Another lie. All funding for it was raised by the producer Joan Macpherson for the Strathendrick Film society. Michael Ferns is with-holding his rights as he said he is doing a re-make with a big budget. This film would have sold but he will not let that happen. The company he said he was making the film with has closed its doors. ( I think the faeries had something to do with this!!)He said he would give a copy of the film to the society just for cast and crew if they agreed to a contract that included a gagging order not to speak to anyone about the film or him. He never followed through and stopped replying to the society. Very sad all round.

Hi, I haven’t seen the film out anywhere and its been almost a year since the interview. I wrote to Michael and got no response. Have you seen it anywhere? I was excited about watching t but I now I am not sure its been released. ???

Hi, whilst Googling Robert Kirk I found this interview with Michael Ferns…. I am particularly excited about this as Robert Kirk b 1644 was my husbands 7 x great grandfather… Is a copy of this film availabe to purchase, and where can I find more information about the film, its cast and its making please PLEASE…..
