America’s problem is our materialism. What is so important about having so many objects? Unbridled materialistic capitalism leads to stress, ulcers and strokes. Maybe with our economic collapse, we’ll learn other values…that there are things more important then physical possessions. I think it is starting already, a shift in consciousness born from this turmoil. America won’t have the wealth it did. We are a poorer nation now as everything (houses, stock portfolios) is worth less. Maybe we’ll the value other things more now. Will America become less materialistic?
